I only now noticed, that I never finished this post. I have done the cheese test as soon as I read the Jo's post. I just forgot to wrote about it. Ups.
This is my result:
You are blue cheese! You are a soft, crumbly white blue-streaked cheese. You are very cool and mellow. You are very knowledgeable and wise and people come to you for advice and help. Blue cheese is a white cheese with blue veins and a sometimes crumbly interior. This cheese usually has tangy, piquant, spicy and peppery flavour. Use in salad dressings with cream cheese for spreads.
I think the point of these tests is to be mostly inaccurate. I think that make them more fun.
I have been out of the keeping track of the personality differences research. But last info that I have, even the best test can explain at most 30% of variation is people's actions. And that is when you can force countless students to do as many surveys as you need to test one hypothesis. Most of it is still unknown. Free will perhaps?
Not to mention the whole situation and context effect on our behaviour. And many, many, many more.
(Oh, I remember now why I did not write it originally. I was trying to stop myself from ranting about personality differences. So maybe better to stop now...)
I mean, isn't this why we want to do things? Because it is either interesting or fun? Or makes us feel better? Preferably all of it?
Because I think the world would be better, if we did more things out of enjoyment. And not to just increase some random metric.
(Even if I know that this is sometimes now easy. I was recently on a relationship discussion and I mentioned that I don't know if I want a romantic partner. Somebody challenged me, that if I had no fear and could manifest whatever I wanted instantly, what kind would I want. And I had the clear answer of 'None. I would not ask for any life partner, romantic or not'. It seems that is the answer for me, but I don't like this answers, because I do have my own fears.)
